Deprived of its old town by the 1960 earthquake, Agadir touched the heart of Beato Salvatore ‘Coco Pollizzi’, a Sicilian master decorator born in Morocco, who had long cherished the ambition of recreating a Medina for the city. Born into a family of builders, it was with supreme determination that he began work on this pharaonic project in 1992, finding here a formidable source of expression for his talents.
On the eve of its opening, Coco Polizzi’s Medina was revealed as an authentic architectural marvel, with a powerful identity in the image of its founder.
